Duties of the President include:
- Preside at all Association meetings, Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings. Prepare agendas.
- Serve as Delegate at the Regional Conference & National Convention (travel and time away from work required). Prepare a report for the members to be presented at the next monthly meeting and printed in the Newsletter
- Serve as Delegate and representative at State Council meetings (travel may be required). Prepare and present report at the Council meeting as required by the Council Director. Prepare a report about the meeting for the members to be presented at the next monthly meeting and printed in the Newsletter
- Serve as liaison for communications between National, Regional and/or State officers and IAGDM members. Share with IAGDM members information received from Council Director, Regional Vice President and National Headquarters at monthly meetings and/or in the Newsletter.
- Present special message at December VIP Party and May NAIW Week Observation meeting
- Appoint chairman of all committees except Membership, Program and Telephone
- Appoint all special committees including the Audit and Budget committees
- Appoint a Parliamentarian, Historian and Tellers
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except Nominating
- Prepare monthly message for the Newsletter – include information about upcoming events and meetings – should be motivational
- Share with IAGDM members information received from Council Director, Regional Vice President and National Headquarters at monthly meetings and/or in the Newsletter

Duties of the President-Elect include:
- Assist the President and perform the duties of the President in the event of the inability of the President to serve for a temporary period.
- Succeed to the office of President in the event of a vacancy in that office
- Serve as Chairman of the Membership Committee
- Serve as alternate delegate at the Regional Conference & National Convention (travel and time away from work required). Must be present at meetings and step in if the President has to leave.
- Serve as alternate delegate and representative at State Council meetings (travel may be required) Must be present at meetings and step in if the President has to leave.
- Serve on the Special Committee for scheduling programs chaired by the Vice President
- Serve as chairman of the Budget Committee
- If there is a vacancy in the office of the President, the President-Elect shall succeed to that office.
- Read the Collect at the VIP party and May NAIW Week Observation Meeting
- Serve as an Ex-Officio member of the Nominating Committee
Angelique Damstrom

Duties of the Vice President include:
- Assist the President and President-Elect.
- Perform the duties of those two (2) officers in the event of their inability to serve for a temporary period.
- Serve as Chairman of the Program Committee
- Chair a Special Committee made up of the Program, Education, Public Relations and Membership Chairmen that will schedule and publish programs on a calendar year basis

State Auto Insurance Companies
Duties of the Recording Secretary include:
- Take minutes of all Association meetings, the Executive Committee and Executive Board meetings.
- Make minutes available at the next regular meeting of the respective bodies.
- Submit a copy of the minutes to the President no later than ten (10) days prior to the meeting.
Debra VandeWeerd, AIS, API
Nationwide Insurance
Duties of the Treasurer include:
- Receive all monies belonging to the Association and deposit same in a financial institution approved by the Executive Board
- Issue and sign all checks for expenditures authorized by the Association and/or Executive Board
- Keep in a permanent file a record of all receipts and expenditures
- Monitor expiration dates of association Certificates of Deposits (CDs) and make recommendations for renewal to the Association Board
- Give a written report of receipts and expenditures at each business meeting of the Association
- Remit to NAIW all monies due from the Association
- File Form 990 and 990T with the Internal Revenue Service, and any state and local tax forms as required
- Submit the books and accounts to the Audit Committee within twenty (20) days of the end of the fiscal year.
- After the audit, submit to her successor all records pertaining to the office
- Serve on the Budget Committee
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the Finance Committee
- Serve as backup to the Corresponding Secretary for picking up mail from the post office box.
Susan Reichardt , CPCU, AU, CPIW
EMC Insurance Company
Duties of the Corresponding Secretary include:
- Conduct the official correspondence of the Association including correspondence received from other members, organizations or individuals
- Keep an accurate list of names and addresses of all members of the Association
- Prepare and distribute a roster of members.
- Pick up the mail from the post office box
- Serve as Chairman of the Telephone Committee
- Take responsibility for the Sunshine Fund. Collect money at monthly meetings. Use the fund to send cards/flowers to members for both happy and sad occassions
- Assist the President as requested
- Serve as a resource for employment opportunities
Committees:
Desiree Meyer, AIS, CISR, CIC
Duties of the Membership committee include:
- Receive applications for membership and make appropriate recommendations to the Executive Board; submit applications and dues to NAIW Headquarters for approval; Notify members of approval; Provide copies of the application to President, Corresponding Secretary, Newsletter Chairman and appropriate standing committee chairman
- Educate the membership to an appreciation of the purposes of the Association
- Administer the New Member Mentoring Program
- Plan and present a new member orientation program
- Promote the sale of NAIW jewelry
- Keep an accurate list of the Association members and submit such list to the proper office or officers of NAIW as required
- Monitor membership time periods; Inform Education Chairman of members who meet the criteria for the CPIW/CPIM designations; Inform Public Relations Chairman of members who meet the time qualifications for the Rookie of the Year Award; Inform Public Relations and Program Chairman of members who meet the criteria for veteran honors at VIP Party or May NAIW Week Observation meeting.
- Issue notice in the April Bulletin regarding payment of dues
- Notify any member whose dues are delinquent
- Give assistance in organizing new associations
- Chairman serves on the Special Program Committee
Angelique Damstrom
Duties of the Program Committee include:
- Present well coordinated programs in harmony with the objectives of the Association (planned by Special Program Committee)
- Maintain a record of available speakers; contact and confirm speakers before meetings – invite them to attend the dinner
- Arrange meeting sites and select menus- remember to offer a vegetarian choice
- Notify the restaurant or caterer of the meal counts on the Monday before the monthly meeting
- Collect monies for the regular dinner meetings
- Take responsibility for the VIP dinner usually held in December
- Chairman serves on the Budget Committee
- Chairman leads the Special Program Committee which schedules and publishes programs for the calendar year. Meeting should be held in August
Brenda Kluger & Tonia Jones– Co-Chairmen
Duties of the Public Relations Committee include:
- Foster and promote a public relations program which will stimulate participation in community and industry activities
- Plan and implement special program in observance of National Insurance Women’s Week (May Dinner meeting)
- Direct IAGDM and NAIW award programs by accepting applications, selecting judges, securing the award plaques, announcing the winners and forwarding applications to state and local levels.
- Plan and implement annual community activities including Partners in Literacy, Mitten Tree and Food Pantry programs
- Chairman serves on the Special Program Committee

Duties of the Public Relations Committee include:
- Recommends and supervises educational programs and courses of study in insurance and related subjects.
- Informs the association any legislation affecting the insurance industry
- Promotes legislative programs as approved by the Executive Board
- Promotes safety programs
- Chairman serves on the Special Program Committee
Eileen Bleskacek & Marilyn Paul
Duties of the Finance Committee include:
- This committee raises the funds for IAGDM that are used to sponsor association activities
- Select and implement fund raising activities; collect monies for the activities. In the past activities have included selling Rada knives, cookbooks, greeting cards and wrapping paper, area coupon booklets or cards, NAIW/IAGDM clothing, and 50-50 tickets. The biggest event has been a annual Spring Style Show & Salad Luncheon.
- Chairman serves on the Budget Committee
Paula Dishman & Eileen Bleskacek - Chairman
Proposed Duties of the Website Committee include:
- Working with the Website Designer to make changes in the website design
- Work with the IAGDM Officers and committee chairman to determine items that should be included on the website.
- Maintaining the content of the website either by making updates directly or by coordinating updates through the website provider
- Monitoring the costs of the website; request payments be made to the designer/provider as needed

Proposed Duties of the Mentors Committee include:
- Duties of the Mentors Committee will be established during the 2007-2008 term.
Shirley Goslin, CPCU,. AIS, CPIW.
Duties of the By Laws Committee include:
- Review the Association Bylaws and Standing Rules
- Consider all written proposed changes and make any changes required by National Headquarters
- Present the changes to the association with recommendations
- Submit approved changes to NAIW Headquarters and distribute them to members.
Sheri Snodgrass, AIM, ARP, AAM, CCP, HIA, CPIW
Duties of the Newsletter (Bulletin) Committee include:
- Prepare the monthly Newsletter including editing, publishing and distributing under the direction of the Executive Board
- Newsletter articles should include activities of the association and industry information
- If needed, make a second edition of the newsletter for posting on the website – this edition must be stripped of personal information members do not want distributed to the general public
- Articles and reports for the Newsletter must be submitted to the chairman by the 20th of each month
- Chairman of this committee serves as a mentor to the website committee

Duties of the Budget Committee include:
- Prepare an annual operating budget for the association for the Fiscal Year (July 1 to June 30)
- Present this budget to the membership for approval at the September meeting
- Work on this committee should not start until the annual Audit has been completed

Duties of the Audit Committee include:
- This committee should consist of three (3) qualified members
- Audit the books and accounts done by the association Treasurer
- Prepare and present a comprehensive report of the findings to the association members at or before the September meeting (note the Budget committee can not start their work until the Audit has been completed)
- Treasurer should submit the books to the committee within 20 days after the close of the Fiscal Year (June 30)
Coke Barton
Duties of the Tellers Committee include:
- If required, hand out paper ballots
- As needed , count votes submitted by paper ballots or standing members

Duties of the Telephone Committee include:
- Contact members with time sensitive news – good and/or bad concerning members and activities as requested by the President and/or members of the Executive Board

Duties of the Nominating Committee include:
- This committee is elected by ballot of the Executive Board no later than the December meeting
- The committee shall consist of five (5) members with no more than two (2) members of the Executive Board
- The committee shall present one (1) or more candidates selected from the membership for the offices of President-Elect, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer at the April meeting.
- In the event that the President serving that office, due to a vacancy, chooses not to serve the following year, or no one succeeds the office of President, the Nominating committee shall present to the membership one (1) or more candidates selected from the membership for the office of President.
Nancy Thompson, AIC, CPIW, AIS
Duties of the Hall of Fame Representative include:
- Represent IAGDM on the Hall of Fame Board
- Keep IAGDM members informed on Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and other activities
Shirley Goslin, CPCU,. AIS, CPIW.
Duties of the Parliamentarian include:
- Advise the presiding officer or chairman in maintaining order at all meetings
- Render opinions in parliamentarian matters following Robert’s Rules of Order
Brenda Kluger
Duties of the Historian include:
- Compile, update and preserve the history of the association.
- Prepare the President’s book which is a scrapbook with photos, copies of the Newsletters and other pertinent memorabilia.
- Provide Website Committee with photos to be posted on the website
- Maintain the Association’s camera; recommend replacement as needed
Lisa Bielser
Duties of the Immediate Past President include:
- Serve on the Association board to assist as needed and provide continuity of activities from one year to the next.
