IAGDM to Host Iowa Council Meeting
YOU’RE INVITED
August 3, 2009
Greetings! Summer is in full swing and it’s time again for the Iowa Council Meeting. Our venue this year is Holiday Inn & Suites at Jordan Creek September 25 and 26th. Our Council Meeting Committee has been working me to make sure you walk away refreshed and rejuvenated.
We are mixing it up a little this year beginning Friday evening at 5:00 pm with hors d’oeuvres followed by a 5:30 p.m. panel discussion with such dignitaries as:
Susan Voss - Insurance Commissioner
Doug Ireland - Drake University
Carol Karns –Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa
Barb Sullivan – CPCU President
Each will give an update in their field and then it’s your chance to ask any questions you may have of them. Dress attire for this meeting will be business.
We are opening the Friday Night Panel Discussion up to the public for a fee of $25.00. Please bring a friend or colleague to show our support for these industry leaders. When was the last time you invited your boss?
After business is concluded for the evening, we will have the Hospitality Room open for our tailgate party. Wear your team colors and don your favorite attire.
Our business meeting on Saturday will start at 9:00 a.m. Our Keynote Speaker during the meeting will be Liz Nead of Nead Inspiration. Liz has a national talk radio show and will motivate us while interjecting her program with stories from her days in insurance.
If you haven’t blocked Sept. 25 and 26th off on your calendar yet, what are you waiting for? We are excited about this years’ agenda and hope you will find it fun and informative.

Greetings! On behalf of the Iowa Council Committee and our Iowa Council Director, Paula Dishman, we cordially invite you to “Remember the Past; Challenge the Future” with NAIW. Our Iowa Council Meeting will be held September 25th and 26th, 2009 in West Des Moines, IA.
We have been working hard and a very informative and fun meeting awaits our Iowa Council NAIW members in September!
The meeting kicks off on Friday, September 25th with registration from 3:00-5:00 pm. At 5:00pm, hot appetizers will be served; at 5:30pm you will have the opportunity to take part in the Insurance Industry Panel Discussion. We have invited industry dignitaries to participate in a panel discussion related to our meeting’s theme; panelists include Susan Voss, IA Insurance Commissioner. After the panel discussion, we will hold the Delegates Briefing, followed by committee meetings and CWC practice. Then, come relax with us in the hospitality room with our IA Council “Tailgate Party” and wear your favorite team apparel! Or you may take advantage of the plentiful shopping opportunities in West Des Moines, gambling at Prairie Meadows - whatever suits your tastes!

Liz is a full time speaker with a national radio talk show and devoted following. She encourages people to sharpen their vision, use their natural “game” and develop a meaningful network to achieve any goal. During her presentation, Liz will share some “war stories” from her years in the insurance industry, which promises to be very entertaining!

Please call 515-309-3900 to reserve rooms by August 25th. You will need to identify yourselves as part of the “National Association of Insurance Women” group. Dress for both the Friday panel discussion and Saturday business meeting is business attire. Please book early and don’t forget to mail your registration for the meeting to Shirley Goslin.
