Membership Benefits

Membership in IAGDM and NAIW is a good investment in your career. You will have easy access to educational courses, leadership and personal development opportunities, and industry alliances.

We offer:

Professional Education Programs:
These programs encompass negotiation skills, selling techniques, mentoring, communication and industry specific topics.

Industry Contacts and Networking Opportunities:
Local (IAGDM), state, regional and international activities provide you with an expanded circle of business contacts and knowledge. NAIW (International) offers members the opportunity to share their expertise with other members and the industry.

Publications:
NAIW’s association magazine, Today's Insurance Professionals, is mailed to all NAIW (International) members, keeping them informed on major industry issues. Members also receive a newsletter, The NAIW Connections and an electronic newsletter, Inroads, providing information on association news and opportunities. IAGDM members also receive monthly newsletters.

Global Communication:
The NAIW (International) web site provides members with ready access to association and industry news and information. NAIW (International's) Career Center helps keep industry professionals employed in the industry during this time of mergers and acquisitions. IAGDM’s website keeps you informed about local events.

Professional Designations:
NAIW (International) members have the opportunity to earn professional designations available only to NAIW (International) members: Certified Professional Insurance Woman/Man (CPIW/M) and Diversified Advance Education (DAE). Designations provide tangible evidence of educational achievement, industry commitment and association involvement

Awards:
Members may compete for a variety of awards on the local, state, regional and international levels. Awards recognize industry excellence and achievement in areas of claims, public speaking, automation, and association participation.

Scholarships:
The Insurance Scholarship Foundation of America was founded by the members of the National Association of Insurance Women (International) in 1993, to provide scholarships to college students preparing for a career in the insurance industry, and for men and women working in the insurance industry seeking to improve their career opportunities . The insurance industry has been strengthened as more and more men and women have pursued their educational goals assisted by over $342,500 in scholarships from the Foundation.
ISFA Scholarship Programs include: College Scholarships: offered to junior and senior students whose major or minor course of study is Insurance, Risk Management, or Actuarial Science. Scholarships are awarded annually in June. Professional Scholarships: offered to men and women employed in the insurance industry pursuing a designation program, studying other industry courses, or completing their degree. Scholarships are awarded in October, February and June.
